More good news for those of us who drink multiple cups of coffee each day! A study was recently published in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry and was led by joint team of researchers from Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Johns Hopkins University in Maryland and the University of California at Berkeley. What the researchers did was try to determine the effects of high daily consumption of coffee as it related to possibly developing multiple sclerosis. Long term use of acid reflux pills could lead to dementia. A new study showed that the risk of developing dementia is some 44% greater from continued use of proton pump inhibitor pills. Women are more at risk. Earlier studies had shown that bone fractures and kidney damage could could result from taking these pills. NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt recently had a story about this.
