Coffee Helps Reduce Risk of Endometrial Cancer in Women

Another type of cancer has been named to the list that coffee protects against! The journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention recently published news that indicates women who consume coffee are at a lower risk of contracting endometrial cancer.

More than 67,000 women were enrolled in this study, which found that women who drank more than four cups of coffee per day saw a 25% decrease in the risk of endometrial cancer. Those drinking 2-3 cups per day saw a 22 percent decrease.

Coffee has increasingly become known as a protective agent against several diseases, especially those related to obesity, insulin, and estrogen. Coffee is known to lower insulin and free estrogen levels, both of which are risk factors for endometrial cancer.

More than half of Americans enjoy drinking healthy coffee each day, which is great considering that coffee is the leading provider of antioxidants in the American diet. Coffee also reduces the risk of stroke, diabetes, Parkinson’s, depression, dementia, and several other cancers including skin, breast, liver, and prostate.
