Although pregnant and nursing women have been advised to limit caffeine use, 60 percent of women claim to have consumed coffee, and therefore caffeine, during  their first month of pregnancy.  Early pregnancy exposure is associated with an increased risk of miscarriage (Weng et al 2008), although not with birth defects (Browne 2006).

The HealthWise Decaf Coffee never uses chemicals; it is decaffeinated using only pure water, and in order to retain most of its flavor, it takes longer and costs more.  The SWISS WATERÒ Process used in decaffeinating our coffee is used by premium roasters.  Our decaf clients find it especially worthwhile since our per cup price is equal to or lower than competitors who use chemicals to eliminate caffeine.
